Ο Iron Man, o Hulk, o Thor, o Captain America, o Hawkeye και η Black Widow πρέπει να ανταποκριθούν στο κάλεσμα για δράση όταν ο Nick Fury, διευθυντής της διεθνούς οργάνωσης για την ειρήνη, γνωστή ως Α.Σ.Π.Ι.Δ.Α., ξεκινάει μια τολμηρή και παγκόσμιας εμβέλειας εκστρατεία προκειμένου να συσπειρώσει τους Εκδικητές για να αντιμετωπίσουν τον εχθρό που απειλεί την ασφάλεια του πλανήτη. Για το λόγο αυτό ο Nick Fury πρέπει να βρει έναν τρόπο να πείσει τους υπέρ ήρωες να συνεργαστούν αντί να ανταγωνίζονται μεταξύ τους, καθώς ο πανίσχυρος και επικίνδυνος Loki έχει αποκτήσει πρόσβαση στο Τεσσεράκτιον (τον ΥπερΚύβο) και την ανεξάντλητη δύναμη του.
