Το ίδιο βράδυ που φτάνουν στο απομονωμένο σπίτι δίπλα στη λίμνη Κόλινγουντ, η Μαρί (ΣΑΡΑ ΠΑΞΤΟΝ, Aquamarine) και η φίλη της, Πέιτζ (ΜΑΡΘΑ ΜΑΚΑΪΖΑΚ, Superbad) πέφτουν θύματα απαγωγής από τον ψυχοπαθή δραπέτη Κρουγκ (ΓΚΑΡΕΤ ΝΤΙΛΑΧΑΝΤ, No Country for Old Men) και τη συμμορία του - την ψυχασθενή Σάντι (ΡΙΚΙ ΛΙΝΤΧΟΜ, Changeling), τον σαδιστή αδερφό του, Φράνσις (ΑΑΡΟΝ ΠΟΛ, Breaking Bad) και τον ανίσχυρο γιο του, Τζάστιν (ΣΠΕΝΣΕΡ ΤΡΙΤ ΚΛΑΡΚ, Gladiator). Τρομοκρατημένη κι ενώ οι απαγωγείς της, τη θεωρούν νεκρή, η Μαρί ξέρει ότι η μόνη ελπίδα της για να επιζήσει είναι να καταφέρει να φτάσει στους γονείς της, Τζον και Έμα (ΤΟΝΙ ΓΚΟΛΝΤΓΟΥΙΝ, The Last Samurai και ΜΟΝΙΚΑ ΠΟΤΕΡ, Saw). Δυστυχώς όμως, γι' αυτήν οι απαγωγείς της αναζητούν καταφύγιο στο μόνο μέρος που η Μέρι θα ήταν ασφαλής. Όταν η οικογένειά της θα πληροφορηθεί την τραγική αυτή ιστορία, θα κάνει τους τρεις ξένους να καταριούνται τη μέρα που μπήκαν στο τελευταίο σπίτι αριστερά.
