Η σειρά αφηγείται την ιστορία διαφόρων ανθρώπων που ενώ νόμιζαν ότι είναι σαν όλους τους άλλους κάποια στιγμή ανακαλύπτουν ότι διαθέτουν υπερφυσικές ικανότητες. Το σκεπτικό είναι ότι όλοι τους έχουν να παίξουν κάποιο σημαντικό ρόλο στη σωτηρία της ανθρωπότητας από μια μεγάλη επερχόμενη καταστροφή. Σύμφωνα με την επίσημη ιστοσελίδα της σειράς, οι πρωταγωνιστές δεν ανακαλύπτουν απλώς το τι σημαίνει να έχει κανείς υπερδυνάμεις, αλλά αποκαλύπτουν και το γενικότερο σχέδιο πίσω από την προέλευση αυτών των δυνάμεων. Οι ζωές τους διασταυρώνονται καθώς προσπαθούν να αποφύγουν έναν κοινό εχθρό που έχει σαν σκοπό να εκμεταλλευθεί τις δυνάμεις τους για δικό του όφελος.
