Παραμονή Πρωτοχρονιάς στην κορυφή ενός ουρανοξύστη στο Λονδίνο. Ο Μάρτιν στέκεται κυριολεκτικά στην άκρη. Ο άλλοτε αγαπητός παρουσιαστής της τηλεόρασης, βρίσκεται σε απόγνωση και ετοιμάζεται να πηδήξει. Δεν είναι όμως μόνος του. Μία ανύπαντρη μητέρα, η Μορίν, ένας ατίθασος έφηβος, ο Τζες και ένας μουσικός που δουλεύει ως deliver boy, ο Τζέι Τζέι βρίσκονται όλη στην ίδια κατάσταση και έχουν το ίδιο σχέδιο.
