Ο ανυπόφορος Lord Beckett έχει αποφασίσει να ξεβρομίσει τις θάλασσες από την απειλή των πειρατών και στην προσπάθεια αυτή θα έχει έναν απρόθυμο αλλά παντοδύναμο σύμμαχο- τον Davy Jones (1.0Cool. Έχοντας κλέψει (κυριολεκτικά) την καρδιά του πειρατή-χταποδιού, ο Beckett σκοπεύει να εξαπολύσει μια επίθεση εκκαθάρισης (α λα Shock and Awe) εναντίον όλων των υπαρχόντων πειρατών, οι οποίοι για μια και μόνο φορά παραμερίζουν τις έριδές τους και ενώνονται μπροστά στην θανάσιμη, κοινή απειλή. Μαζί τους είναι φυσικά ο Jack Sparrow, που με κάποιον τρόπο επανέρχεται μαζί μας, το βαρετό ζευγάρι Will Turner και Elizabeth Swan, ο Captain Barbossa, o Ασιάτης πειρατής Sao Fen και, μεταξύ άλλων, ένας πρόγονος του καπετάνιου Nemo, του οποίου το αρχοντικό μούσι δεν θα κατάφερνε να φτιάξει ούτε η ίδια η ILM (1.13). Αυτό το ετερόκλητο πλήρωμα από γενναίους τυχοδιώκτες θα σταθεί απέναντι στον διαβολικό Becke...
