Ο Max έχει στο ενεργητικό του τις μεγαλύτερες και πιο θεαματικές ληστείες. Εκτελεί τα σχέδιά του με απόλυτη ακρίβεια χωρίς να αφήνει σημάδια. Είναι ένας άψογος επαγγελματίας κλέφτης με τα ακριβά κοσμήματα να βρίσκονται στην κορυφή των προτιμήσεών του. Όπως όλοι οι καλοί κλέφτες αποφασίζει να αποσυρθεί από την ενεργό δράση όσο είναι ακόμα νωρίς και ασύλληπτος. Μετά από μια επιτυχημένη -τελευταία- μπάζα μετακομίζει μαζί με την συνεργό (και σύντροφο) Lola σε ένα πανέμορφο τροπικό νησί. Ο Max διαγράφει το παρελθόν του και λειτουργεί ως κοινός θνητός. Ακόμα και στη «σύνταξη» κάθε κίνηση του Max καταγράφεται από τον Stan, έναν πράκτορα του FBI, που πιστεύει ότι ο Max δεν θα αντέξει και πολύ καιρό μακριά από το παρακινδυνευμένο χόμπι του" και έχει δίκιο. Στο λιμάνι του νησιού βρίσκεται αραγμένο ένα τεράστιο γιοτ με το όνομα Diamond Cruise που φιλοξενεί ένα σπάνιο διαμάντι αξίας 3,5 εκατομμυρίων δολαρίων. O Max δύσκολα θα μπορέσει να αντισταθεί και σπαταλά τα πρωινά του - την ώρα που η γυναίκα του προσπαθεί να προσαρμοστεί στη νέα τους ζωή - προβληματισμένος για το αν πρέπει να κάνει την κίνησή του. Αυτή τη φορά όμως ο πράκτορας Stan είναι στο κατόπι του και δύσκολα ο διάσημος ληστής θα καταφέρει να εκτελέσει ένα ακόμα" τελευταίο κόλπο.
