Ο Τζον Κόνσταντιν έχει το χάρισμα να βλέπει τους δαίμονες να περιφέρονται ελεύθεροι στη γη και σκοπεύει να τους στείλει πίσω στην κόλαση!Στο ρόλο του Κόνσταντιν, ο σταρ των ταινιών Matrix, Κιάνου Ριβς, προσπαθεί να κερδίσει τη λύτρωση πολεμώντας για το Καλό και εξορκίζοντας τους πράκτορες της Κολάσεως, σε ένα υπερφυσικό θρίλερ βασισμένο στους χαρακτήρες της νουβέλας Hellblazer της DC Comics/Vertigo.Όταν συναντά στο δρόμο του μια απελπισμένη αστυνομικό (Ρέιτσελ Γουάις) που του ζητά βοήθεια για το μυστηριώδη θάνατο της δίδυμης αδελφής της, τότε οι Πύλες της Κολάσεως ανοίγουν για ένα τρομερό πόλεμο, που στο τέλος ο Κόνσταντιν, θα αντιμετωπίσει τον ίδιο το Διάβολο...
