Στο Δουβλίνο των ’80s ο Κόνορ αναγκάζεται να αλλάξει σχολείο λόγω των μεγάλων οικονομικών προβλημάτων της οικογένειάς του. Έξω από το αυτό θα γνωρίσει τη Ράφινα, μια όμορφη κοπέλα που ονειρεύεται να μεταναστεύσει στο Λονδίνο για να γίνει μοντέλο. Για να την προσεγγίσει, ο Κόνορ θα φτιάξει ένα μαθητικό συγκρότημα μαζί με τους λιγότερο δημοφιλείς συμμαθητές του. Ο αδερφός του Μπρένταν λειτουργεί σαν μέντοράς του, την ίδια στιγμή που προσπαθεί να βρει το δικό του προσανατολισμό μέσα στην ακμαία μουσική σκηνή της εποχής.
