Big Fish σημαίνει Μεγάλο Ψάρι, απο αυτά για τα οποία υπερβάλλουν συνήθως οι ψαράδες. Το ίδιο υπερβολικός είναι και ο Έντουαρντ Μπλουμ, καθώς στη δύση της ζωής του, εξιστορεί τις καλές και κακές της στιγμές. Ο γιός του, Γουίλιαμ, θα προσπαθήσει να ξεχωρίσει την αλήθεια απο τους μύθους και να δώσει τη σωστή διάσταση στα γεγονότα που σημάδεψαν την πλούσια διαδρομή του πατέρα του στο χρόνο. Και για πρώτη φορά, θα δοκιμάσει να τον καταλάβει...
