Δύο χρόνια μετά την πρώτη ταινία κυκλοφορεί το δεύτερο μέρος της μεταφοράς στη μεγάλη οθόνη του γνωστού videogame. Η ιστορία διαδραματίζεται σχεδόν αμέσως μετά το σημείο που είχε τελειώσει η πρώτη ταινία. Η εντολή που δίδεται να ξανανοίξει η Κυψέλη, έχει ως συνέπεια την άμεση μόλυνση ολόκληρου του Raccoon City. Η Umbrella corporations υψώνει τείχος και εκατοντάδες μένουν κλεισμένοι μέσα, κυνηγημένοι από τα zombies. Στη μέση του πανικού θα ξυπνήσει η Alice που νιώθει ότι κάτι δεν πάει καλά. Μαζί με την δυναμική πρώην αστυνομικό Jill Valentine και κάποια μέλη της Umbrella θα μείνουν πίσω για ναα προσπαθήσουν να βρουν μέσα στην πόλη ένα κοριτσάκι ονόματι Angie Ashford. Ο επιστήμονας πατέρας της Dr. Ashford τους προσφέρει έξοδο διαφυγής αν καταφέρουν να σώσουν την κόρη του. Και όλα αυτά ενώ εκτός από τα συνηθισμένα νεκροζώντανα κάτι πολύ μεγαλύτερο και πιο άσχημο κυκλοφορεί εκεί έξω έχοντας οδηγίες να βρει και να εξοντώσει την Alice...
