Πώς φαντάζεστε έναν ικανό ντετέκτιβ; Μάλλον όχι υποχόνδριο και απόκοσμο! Για τον Άντριαν Μονκ όμως η διαφορετικότητα αποτελεί μέρος της γοητείας του. Η υπηρεσία του αναγκαστικά τον υποβιβάζει μετά τη μυστηριώδη δολοφονία της συζύγου του, αντιμετωπίζοντάς τον σαν προβληματικό άτομο. Όμως το αστυνομικό ταλέντο του Μονκ παραμένει αστείρευτο παρά τις εμμονές του, ο κατάλογος των οποίων διευρύνεται σε κάθε νέο επεισόδιο. Μαζί με την παρτενέρ του νοσοκόμα Μπίτι Σραμ δουλεύει ασταμάτητα για να αποδείξει ότι δεν υπάρχει τέλειο έγκλημα. Οι φοβίες του και η ανάγκη να βγει από το τέλμα, κάνουν το ντετέκτιβ μας αξιαγάπητο. Μια εναλλακτική αστυνομική σειρά, γλυκόπικρη όπως και η ίδια η ζωή.
