Ο σεναριογραφος Charlie Kaufmann εχει αναλαβει να μεταφερει το βιβλιο της Susan Orlean "The Orchid Thief" σε ταινια. Το συγγραμμα βασιζεται στη ζωη του John Laroche, ο οποιος κλωνοποιει σπανιες ορχιδεες και τις μεταπουλαει σε συλλεκτες. Ετσι παρακολουθουμε την εξελιξη του βιβλιου, καθως ο Kaufmann προσπαθει να το διασκευασει.
