Η πλοκή της σειράς ακολουθεί τον Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon), έναν πράκτορα των Μυστικών Υπηρεσιών, καθώς φτάνει στη απομακρυσμένη πόλη του Wayward Pines στο Idaho για να διαλευκάνει μια υπόθεση εξαφάνισης δύο ομοσπονδιακών πρακτόρων. Κάθε βήμα που κάνει ο Ethan προς την αναζήτηση της αλήθειας, είναι ένα βήμα μακριά από τη ζωή όπως τη γνώριζε μέχρι σήμερα ως σύζυγος και πατέρας, ειδικά όταν συνειδητοποιεί πως υπάρχει μεγάλη πιθανότητα να μην γυρίσει ποτέ ζωντανός, από το Wayward Pines.
