Η Μάρτα είναι μια νοικοκυρά που ζει μια καλή ζωή στα προάστια, στη Βόρεια Καλιφόρνια. Η οικογένεια παρουσιάζει μια τέλεια εικόνα προς την κοινωνία. Όμως, πίσω από αυτή την τέλεια εικόνα, κρύβεται η ανάμειξη της οικογένειας στο οργανωμένο έγκλημα. Ο πατέρας, ο αδερφός κι ο άντρας της, προέβαιναν σε πληθώρα παράνομων πράξεων. Η ίδια η Μάρτα έκανε τα στραβά μάτια κι αρνούνταν να δει την πραγματικότητα. Το ποτήρι για την ίδια ξεχείλισε, όταν δολοφονήθηκε ο σύζυγός της. Πλέον, θα κάνει οτιδήποτε για να κρατήσει ζωντανή την οικογένειά της. Μέσα της, σιγοβράζει και η δίψα για εκδίκηση. Μπορεί η σταδιακή μετάλλαξή της να φτάσει και μέχρι το σημείο να αναλάβει τα ηνία της οικογενειακής «επιχείρησης»;
