Ένα ρεαλιστικό παραμύθι με έντονη δράση στην Βρετανία των Βίκινγκς το 871 μ.Χ, σ' έναν κόσμο που κυριαρχεί η βία. Ένας νεαρός Βίκινγκ πολεμιστής, ο Steinar (Charlie Bewley), στέλνεται από τον βασιλιά πατέρα του να βρει τον αποξενωμένο αδελφό του, ο οποίος εξορίστηκε από το βασίλειο πολλά χρόνια πριν. Το επικό ταξίδι του Steinar μέσα σ' ένα τρομακτικά εχθρικό έδαφος τον αναδεικνύει σταδιακά ως εκείνον που πατέρας του ήθελε να είναι: ένας αδίστακτος και ανηλεής διάδοχος στο θρόνο του.
