Η ιδιοφυΐα του εφευρέτη Φλιντ Λόκγουντ επιτέλους αναγνωρίζεται όταν το είδωλό του, Τσέστερ Β, τον προσλαμβάνει στην εταιρεία The Live Corp Company, μαζί με τους καλύτερους και λαμπρότερους εφευρέτες του κόσμου. Το όνειρο του Φλιντ ήταν ανέκαθεν να αναγνωριστεί ως μέγας εφευρέτης, αλλά όλα αλλάζουν όταν ανακαλύπτει ότι η κακόφημη μηχανή του -η οποία μετατρέπει το νερό σε φαγητό- εξακολουθεί να λειτουργεί παράγοντας μεταλλαγμένα υβρίδια τροφίμων, τα «foodimals». Ο Φλιντ και οι φίλοι του αναλαμβάνουν μία ακόμα διασκεδαστική αποστολή, παλεύοντας με πεινασμένους τακόδειλους, γαριδομπαντζήδες, τυραράχνες και άλλα πλάσματα τροφίμων.
