Ο Θορ μάχεται να σώσει τους εννιά κόσμους από έναν μυστηριώδη εχθρό, αρχαιότερο του σύμπαντος. Όμως, κι μια σύγχρονη φυλή, με ηγέτη τον Μάλεκιθ, ζητάει εκδίκηση και σκοπεύει να βυθίσει το σύμπαν στο χάος. Με αντίπαλους εχθρούς ισχυρότερους από τον Όντιν και τον Άσγκαρντ, ο Θορ πρέπει να ενώσει ξανά τις δυνάμεις του με την Τζέιν Φόστερ σε ένα επικίνδυνο ταξίδι, στο οποίο πρέπει να κάνει την απόλυτη θυσία.
