Ο Τζορτζ Ντράιερ είναι ένας Σκοτσέζος πρώην ποδοσφαιριστής που έχει φορέσει τις φανέλες μεγάλων ευρωπαϊκών συλλόγων. Από την άλλη πλευρά, η προσωπική του ζωή είναι ερασιτεχνικού επιπέδου, αφού έχει καταφέρει να ξοδέψει όλα τα λεφτά του, να χωρίσει από τη γυναίκα του και να αποξενωθεί από το παιδί του. Ο Τζορτζ επιστρέφει στην Αμερική για να φτιάξει τα πράγματα, αναλαμβάνοντας την ποδοσφαιρική ομάδα του 9χρονου μοναχογιού του και προσπαθώντας να επαναπροσεγγίσει την πρώην γυναίκα του Στέισι.
