Έχουν περάσει 15 χρόνια από την τραυματική εμπειρία στο καραμελένιο σπίτι, όταν και οι μικροί Χάνσελ και Γκρέτελ σκότωσαν την μάγισσα που πήγε να τους μαγειρέψει. Με την πάροδο των χρόνων, τα αδέλφια έχουν γίνει εκδικητές κυνηγοί κεφαλών, ορκισμένοι να εξολοθρεύουν μάγισσες. Παρότι δεν έχουν συνέλθει τελείως από το παιδικό τραύμα, η δουλειά τους είναι σχετικά εύκολη αφού δεν τους πιάνουν ούτε τα ξόρκια, ούτε οι κατάρες. Τώρα, ο δήμαρχος του Όγκσμπουργκ τους προσλαμβάνει για να εξουδετερώσουν την δαιμονική μάγισσα Μίριελ που καταδυναστεύει την πόλη κι έχει σκοπό να θυσιάσει ντόπια παιδιά στη σύναξη των μαγισσών, γνωστή ως Ματωμένο Φεγγάρι. Τα πράγματα γίνονται ακόμα πιο δύσκολα, αφού ο βίαιος σερίφης Μπέρινγκερ καταλαμβάνει την εξουσία στην πόλη και καταστρώνει τα δικά του σχέδια εξόντωσης.
