Ο Αμερικανός πεζοναύτης Logan Thibault (Zac Efron) επιστρέφει στο Colorado από την τρίτη θητεία του στο Ιράκ, φέρνοντας μαζί του το μόνο πράγμα που πιστεύει ότι τον κράτησε ζωντανό στην εμπόλεμη ζώνη: τη φωτογραφία μιας άγνωστης γυναίκας που βρήκε μέσα στα χαλάσματα. Έτσι, αποφασίζει να ξεκινήσει μία επίμονη προσπάθεια εντοπισμού της. Η αναζήτηση τον οδηγεί στη Louisiana, όπου μαθαίνει ότι το όνομά της είναι Beth (Taylor Schilling) και ζει σε μία μικρή πόλη. Παρά το μυστήριο που περιβάλλει την ξαφνική παρουσία του στη ζωή της, σύντομα αναπτύσσεται μεταξύ τους ένα δυνατό ειδύλλιο, το οποίο δείχνει να απειλείται μονάχα από τον επίμονο πρώην άντρα της Beth...
