Ο Τζο είναι ένας «Looper», ένας επαγγελματίας δολοφόνος από το μέλλον που χρησιμοποιεί μια μηχανή του χρόνου για να επιστρέψει στο παρελθόν και να εκτελέσει τα θύματά του. Είναι ο καλύτερος στο είδος του, η μαφία τον πληρώνει καλά και ζει μια ωραία ζωή. Όταν, όμως, ανακαλύπτει ότι ο επόμενος στόχος είναι ο ίδιος του ο εαυτός, ο Τζο δεν καταφέρνει να πατήσει τη σκανδάλη.
