Ο Φρανκ είναι ένας Αμερικανός τουρίστας ο οποίος επισκέπτεται την Ιταλία για να συνέλθει μετά από ένα αποτυχημένο έρωτα. Η Ελίζ είναι μία υπέροχη γυναίκα η οποία βρίσκεται στο δρόμο του ηθελημένα. Με φόντο την μαγευτική Βενετία, ο Φρανκ επιδιώκει ένα νέο έρωτα, αλλά πολύ σύντομα ο ίδιος και η Ελίζ θα βρεθούν στο επίκεντρο μίας θύελλας ίντριγκας και κινδύνου.
