"Καταδικασμένος σε 6 χρόνια φυλάκιση, ο Μάλικ δεν μπορεί ούτε να διαβάσει, ούτε να γράψει. Φτάνοντας στη φυλακή είναι μόνος, μόλις 19 ετών, αλλά μοιάζει νεότερος και πιο εύθραυστος από τους υπόλοιπους κατάδικους. Τον προσεγγίζει ο αρχηγός μιας συμμορίας φυλακισμένων και του αναθέτει κάποιες "αποστολές". Μέσα από αυτές, ο νεαρός Μάλικ σκληραγωγείται και κερδίζει την εμπιστοσύνη του αρχηγού της συμμορίας. Παράλληλα όμως, διατηρεί τα δικά του κρυφά σχέδια, που τολμά να φέρει εις πέρας."
