Ο πιτσιρικάς Victor αδυνατεί να ξεπεράσει το χαμό του αγαπημένου του σκύλου, Sparky, όταν μία άτυχη στιγμή έφερε το αγαπημένο του τετράποδο στις ρόδες ενός αυτοκινήτου. Έτσι, αποφασίζει με τη βοήθεια της επιστήμης να κάνει το αδιανόητο: να επιχειρήσει να επαναφέρει τον Sparky στη ζωή. Παρότι όμως τα καταφέρνει, σύντομα διαπιστώνει πως η παρουσία του νεκραναστημένου φίλου του αναστατώνει όχι μόνο τους γονείς του αλλά και ολόκληρη στην πόλη. Πλέον, ο Victor καλείται να πείσει τους πάντες - και ίσως τον ίδιο του τον εαυτό - ότι ο Sparky παραμένει ο καλός και πιστός σκύλος που όλοι ήξεραν και όχι κάποιο αποκρουστικό τέρας γεμάτο... ραφές!
