Μετά από μια ανεξήγητη παγκόσμια καταστροφή, οι ηλεκτρονικές συσκευές σταματούν να λειτουργούν σε όλα τα μέρη του κόσμου. Μια ομάδα Αμερικανών και Βρετανών, που έχουν επισκεφθεί τη Μόσχα, βρίσκονται παγιδευμένοι στην πόλη. Το πραγματικό χάος ξεκινά, όταν μια άγνωστη δύναμη αρχίζει να καταδιώκει τον ανθρώπινο πληθυσμό. Τα μέλη της ομάδας βρίσκουν καταφύγιο κάτω από τη γη και προσπαθούν να επιβιώσουν με κάθε τρόπο. Πέντε μέρες αργότερα φτάνουν σε μια στοιχειωμένη πόλη, που κάποτε έσφυζε από ζωή, όσο όμως ψάχνουν για άλλους επιζήσαντες, γίνεται ξεκάθαρο ότι η απειλή είναι ακόμη ορατή. Τώρα, για να καταφέρουν να σωθούν, θα πρέπει να προσαρμοστούν και να λειτουργήσουν σαν ομάδα.
