Η ταινία αφηγείται τη ζωή ενός τυφλού, απόστρατου αντισυνταγματάρχη, του Φρανκ Σλέιντ, του οποίου η ζωή αλλάζει ριζικά, όταν ένας νεαρός φοιτητής αναλαμβάνει να του κρατήσει συντροφιά κατά τη διάρκεια των Ευχαριστιών. Ένα ταξίδι στην Νέα Υόρκη, μια βόλτα με Φεράρι και λίγο άρωμα γυναίκας θα τους φέρουν πιο κοντά.
